Ski Choices

In our tests a Jr. alpine race ski (150cm) with our light weight bindings out preformed X/C Skis (180cm) in glide rate, lift, stability and turning. (same amount of surface area) To make the sled turn and glide you need a flat ski with edges. Alpine Jr. race skis, Twin tips or Back country skis are light weight and work the best.

I asked myself what am I missing, why do all the X-C Sleds on the market use X-C Skis so I asked some of the X-C guys on the ski team why they used X-C Skis and I was told "That's what the stand up people use..." or " Alpine skis are too heavy and wont fit in the X-C track" Alpine ski fit fine and with our bindings are about the same weight as X-C skis. By the way, none of the people I asked have ever tried an alpine ski... Try it and decide for yourself.
